Wild Camel (Camelus ferus) is one of the rarest species on Earth, with ~1,000 individuals remaining in the wild, found only in the Gobi Desert of Mongolia and China. There are currently around 40 Wild Camels in breeding centers in Mongolia, and 0 in zoos anywhere in the world.
Wild Camel Protection Foundation USA (WCPF USA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization established in New Jersey, United States, working in close partnership with Wild Camel Protection Foundation UK (est. 1997) and Wild Camel Protection Foundation Mongolia (est. 2001), creating an international alliance dedicated to advancing Wild Camel conservation, research, and the operation of two Wild Camel Breeding & Research Centers in Mongolia.
